The "I am a Man" sculpture  is located next to Clayborn Temple, a key rallying point for the historic 1968 Memphis sanitation strike.

 

Lichterman Nature Center

Lichterman Nature Center is a certified arboretum and nature center located in East Memphis. Lichterman features exciting exhibits, native wildflowers and trees, and environmental education set in the midst of 65 acres of lake, meadow, and forest. Home to a wide variety of plants, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals, Lichterman is an urban nature center for all.

 

Memphis Botanic Gardens

The Memphis Botanic Garden is a 96-acre botanical garden where guests can take a stroll through various gardens on the grounds. The Garden also offers guided tours, guest speakers, educational programs, presentations, and activities for children and adults.

MEMPHIS ZOO

One of the top zoos in the country, the Memphis Zoo is home to over 3,500 animals representing over 500 different species including giant pandas, polar bears, lions, hippos and more.Viewing all the exhibits requires a walk of about 2 miles, and visitors should allow three to five hours to see the entire property.
